Role of the Parish Council

Casterton Parish Council plays a vital part in representing the interest of the community of Casterton, we serve and improve the quality of life and the local environment.

We work within planning, highways, traffic, community safety, street lighting, litter, war memorials, seats and shelters, and projects to deliver greater services to the community.

2009 sees the launch of our Community Self Energy Project. An Energy Audit of the Village will shortly be carried out. Please follow this page link to keep in touch with this exciting project.

Clerk to Casterton Parish Council

Casterton Parish Council is seeking a new Parish Clerk assuming duties from 2nd January 2010 for 4 hours per week to include attendance at meetings.

Remuneration will be on the NJC scale of £8.34 - £11.93 per hour plus expenses, depending on experience.

As Parish Clerk you would be encouraged to train towards professional qualifications recognised by the National Association of Local Councils (NALC).

The post is home based. Approachability, good communication, organisational and IT skills are required and access to broadband internet connection is essential.
