Useful Information for reporting faults
A trip hazard is something where the surface of the road may cause an individual to trip. For example, it could be a manhole or grating cover dropped inside its frame, or potholes.
A pothole is where the surface of the road has been eroded and a hollow has formed. Potholes can form quickly and are a hazard to the public highway.
Indicating the depth of the fault helps us to determine the best way to respond to your reported fault.
Other examples of road faults include:
- overgrown trees or hedges,
- fallen trees or branches,
- tree or tree root encroachment,
- noxious weeds,
- grass cutting,
- spillage on the highway.
