Cumbria Supported Lodging Scheme.

Cumbria County Council. Supported Lodgings Scheme. Within
Cumbria there were about 50 young people each year who left the care system and who
very often had difficulties in coping with the responsibilities of independent living, as few
have families capable of supporting them. As a consequence, the Council is looking to
recruit households which might have a spare room and an interest in giving a young
person a measure of stability whilst they develop the skills required to live independently.
Training, support and financial allowances are available for householders joining this
scheme and anyone who might have an interest should contact Sally Mottram on 01900
